Ravenswood Catholic Young Adults

We are a group of Catholic adults centered in the Ravenswood community who provide service, spiritual and social outreach to build God's kingdom within our hearts and the community. We include, but are not limited to, Catholics in their 20s and 30s, married and single, of the Ravenswood area parishes St. Benedict’s, St. Matthias, Transfiguration of Our Lord, Our Lady of Lourdes and Queen of Angels.

Ongoing Events:
Young Adult Bible Study: RCYA's young adult Bible study meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 7:30 to 9 p.m. For further information, contact Jamie Basso at jamiebasso@yahoo.com or 773-509-1642.
Organizational Meeting: Our monthly organizational meetings have moved to a new site, Resi's Bierstube, 2034 W. Irving Park Rd. The meetings are usually the fourth Sunday of the month but this month will be Sunday, March 30 because Easter Sunday is the 4th Sunday, immediately following 6:30 p.m. Mass at St. Benedict (or 7:30 p.m. at Resi's). All are welcome. Your ideas on improving the organization and volunteer spirit are needed.
Pizza Social: Our regular pizza social will be held on April 13 at St. Benedict parish following 6:30 Mass (or 7:30). The suggested donation is $5 plus an item for the Common Pantry.
COUNSELING IS AVAILABLE AT ST. MATTHIAS
Ms. Linda Volino, LCSW, BCD of the Holbrook Counseling Center of Catholic Charities provides therapy services at St. Matthias Parish. Ms. Volino is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. She is bilingual (English/Spanish), and she has worked with individuals, couples and families. Ms. Volino has 26 years of experience, and she is looking forward to assisting people at St. Matthias. Whether you’re having problems with personal relationships, work situations or are just feeling unhappy or unfulfilled, we’re here for you. REACH OUT
Reach Out is getting ready for the Annual Anointing Mass on May 3, 2008, at 10:30 am in the School Hall. Anointing is for the elderly and those with a serious illness. Children are not included unless they are seriously ill. Box lunches will be provided.
Please call the rectory before April 23rd to make your reservation.
Thanks to those who leave food for the pantry and friends who frequently drop donations addressed to the program in the collection baskets. These are things that keep our program alive. Thanks Again.
